Its jaws are precision machined from hardened steel and mount as replaceable parts, so worn gripping surfaces can be swapped out without discarding the vise. Pipe jaws sit below the main jaws to hold round stock and tubing directly, with no auxiliary clamp needed.

The body is cast from class 30 iron rated at 30,000 lb of tensile strength, stiff enough to resist spreading when the screw is drawn tight and to absorb hammer work without cracking. A machine-ground anvil surface behind the jaws serves as a flat hardened face for forming and shaping metal.

The base rotates through a full 360 degrees and locks at the chosen angle with lock-down handles, so the operator can swing the work to a comfortable position rather than releasing the jaws and reclamping the piece.

<h3
