FAQs

How to store a pressure washer? ▼

To ensure the durability of your heavy duty pressure washer:

  • Empty the gas tank to prevent fuel from degrading or clogging the engine.
  • Empty the pump and hoses of any remaining water.
  • Perform necessary maintenance before storage.
  • Store in a dry area.
  • Cover.
What is a pressure washer? ▼

A power washer is a cleaning machine that uses a gasoline engine to power a high pressure water pump and nozzle. It's used to clean driveways, decks, vehicles, outdoor furniture and more by spraying water at high PSI to remove dirt, grime, mold and other debris. Many models also come with a detergent tank for added cleaning power.

How does a power washer work? ▼

A power washer works by drawing water from a connected hose and pumping it through a high pressure nozzle. The gas engine powers the pump which pressurizes the water and then expels it through the nozzle at high speed to clean the surface. The water pressure is measured in PSI (pounds per square inch) and the flow rate is measured in GPM (gallons per minute). Many models also feature adjustable water pressure settings to cater to different cleaning needs. BE makes pressure washing easy with models available for light jobs and heavy duty commercial cleaning projects.

Gas vs Electric power washers? ▼

The main difference is that a gas pressure washer, known for its cleaning power, is powered by a gasoline engine, making it more powerful and portable, while an electric pressure washer is powered by electricity and is generally quieter and lighter.

Gas pressure washers are for heavy duty and large areas due to their durability, whereas electric pressure washers are for smaller jobs.

Your BE electric pressure washer is perfect for smaller jobs and built for portability, and we offer a wide range of electric models. Included with our electric models is a long extension cord for use anywhere around your house.

What to consider? ▼

When choosing a gas pressure washer consider:

  • Pressure (PSI): More PSI means more cleaning power but also more potential for damaging delicate surfaces.
  • Flow Rate (GPM): More GPM means faster cleaning as more water is dispensed.
  • Engine Power: Bigger engines mean more durability and power.
  • Portability: Weight, handle design and wheel size for easier to move.
  • Nozzles: Multiple spray nozzles to adjust the spray pattern for different tasks.
  • Adjustable Nozzle: Allows for fine-tuning the spray intensity and pattern for various cleaning needs.
How much pressure do I need for? ▼

The required pressure (PSI) and cleaning power depend on the surface you're cleaning:

  • Light duty (car washing, outdoor furniture): 1,300-1,800 PSI.
  • Medium duty (patios, fences, decks): 2,000-3,000 PSI.
  • Heavy duty (driveways, brick walls, large equipment): 3,000+ PSI.

Many pressure washers come with adjustable pressure settings to handle different cleaning tasks effectively.

Can a pressure washing damage surfaces? ▼

Yes, a power washer can damage surfaces if used incorrectly. High pressure water can strip paint, dent soft surfaces or even cause structural damage if the pressure is too high or the nozzle is held too close to the surface. Always use the right PSI for the material you're cleaning and keep a safe distance from delicate surfaces.

To prevent damage, consider using a model with adjustable pressure settings.

How to maintain your pressure washer? ▼

To ensure the durability and smooth operation of a pressure washer:

  • Change the oil as per manufacturer's instructions.
  • Clean or replace the air filter to ensure good airflow.
  • Inspect and clean the nozzle regularly to prevent clogs.
  • Drain the gas tank if you're storing the washer for a long time.
  • Check the hoses for leaks or damage and replace them if needed.
  • Follow regular maintenance requirements to keep the washer in optimal condition.
Can I use a pressure washer in cold weather and low water temperature? ▼

You can use a pressure washer in cold weather but it's more difficult. The water flow rate in the hoses and pump can freeze and damage the equipment. If you plan to use your pressure washer in cold temperatures make sure to winterize it and store it in a warm area when not in use. You can also use anti-freeze solutions for pressure washers.

Some models are designed to use hot water, which can be particularly effective for cleaning in cold weather.

Auto shop standby

Run a small auto body shop in Michigan. We use the pressure washer for cleaning panels before paint, washing parts, and cleaning the shop bay floors. The 4200 PSI is honestly more pressure than I need most days but the GPM flow rate is what really helps for getting through the work. Honda GX390 starts every time even when the shop heater is off. Reliable piece of equipment.

Nuke knew exactly what I needed

Was deciding between the 4200 PSI steel frame and the aluminum frame version for my mobile fleet washing business. Called Blue Collar Planet and talked to Nuke. He asked me about my truck setup, how I load the washer in and out daily, and whether weight mattered more than maximum durability. Based on my answers he steered me to the steel frame because I leave it mounted on the trailer 90% of the time. Glad I called. Steel frame is overkill for some users but for me its been worth it.

Graffiti removal specialty

Run a graffiti removal service for several municipalities in our area. The 4200 PSI is the right tool for the work - enough pressure to lift paint from concrete and brick without damaging the substrate when used properly. Honda starts every morning, pump has been reliable, no complaints in 8 months of heavy use.

Real workhorse for daily commercial

I run a pressure washing business in the Atlanta metro area, mostly commercial and HOA accounts. We are on the gun 6-8 hours every working day. The 4200 PSI Honda has been on the trailer for 7 months now and the Honda GX390 fires up first pull every morning. Pump is holding pressure consistently, no leaks. I have run a Mi-T-M before this and the BE Power feels equally well built at a noticeable price advantage.

Farm equipment cleaning champ

We have a 600 acre cattle operation in central Texas. This washer is on the daily duty list for cleaning the equipment, the milk parlor floor, and various other applications. Honda starts every time, even on 25 degree mornings. The steel frame has held up to being bounced around on the gator without flexing or cracking. Going on 14 months and zero issues.

Strong machine, soap injector is finicky

Look, I will be fair about this. The actual pressure washer is great. Honda engine, pump, frame, all solid. The 4200 PSI is honest and the flow rate is consistent. Three stars because the included downstream soap injector has been a hassle. Sometimes it draws soap properly, sometimes it does not, and the rate is hard to dial in precisely. I have other commercial washers where the soap injection is dead reliable. Not sure if mine is just out of spec or this is a known issue. Have not bothered to swap it out yet but its a quality concern at this price point. Once you bypass the soap and just use straight pressure water its a great machine.

Backup pressure machine

I primarily run a soft wash company but keep a high pressure unit for the occasions we need real PSI - concrete cleaning, graffiti removal, heavy mildew. The 4200 PSI Honda has been a great backup unit. Doesnt get used every day but when it gets used it has been reliable. Started right up after sitting for 3 weeks during the off-season.

Replaced an old Mi-T-M

Had a Mi-T-M Choremaster for almost 10 years. It finally needed too much pump rebuild work to keep limping along. The BE Power 4200 PSI Honda has been a worthy replacement. Build quality feels comparable, the Honda GX390 is the same engine I trusted on the Mi-T-M. Will see if it lasts 10 years too.

Construction cleanup heavyweight

Our construction site cleanup crew uses this washer for concrete prep, equipment cleaning, and final cleanup. The 4200 PSI is plenty for most jobs and the 4 GPM flow rate means we can move through big concrete pads quickly. Honda engine is a non-negotiable for us, anything else has too many start issues in cold weather. Solid setup.

Strong machine, hose connector wear

Pressure washer itself is great. Honda starts every morning, pump holds pressure, no leaks from the unit. My gripe is the hose-to-machine connection has shown some wear faster than I would expect. The threading on the included quick connect feels softer than what I have seen on other commercial machines. Have replaced one O-ring already at 4 months. Once you get familiar with the connection point its manageable but worth being aware of. Otherwise the unit performs as advertised.

Industrial cleaning service

We run an industrial cleaning service that handles factory floor cleaning, equipment degreasing, and warehouse cleanup. The 4200 PSI BE Power has handled every job we have thrown at it. Honda engine starts reliably, pump holds pressure under load. The steel frame is appreciated when the washer gets moved around heavy industrial environments where things can fall on equipment.

N
Nicole C.

We maintain several commercial properties and this washer has handled weekly use without issues so far.

The cleaning power is more than enough for concrete and exterior surface cleaning.

M

The difference between this and lower-end consumer pressure washers becomes obvious very quickly once you start using it for real work.

D
Devin H.

Run a soft wash and pressure washing company in the Florida market. We do roof cleanings (soft wash), driveway/concrete pressure cleaning, house washing (soft wash with chemicals), and commercial flatwork. The 4200 PSI BE Power is our primary pressure unit (the soft wash trailer has a separate pump system).

Reasons I chose this over other options. First the Honda GX390 - I have had Honda engines on equipment for 15 years and they have never let me down. Second the AAA pump - quality direct drive pump that holds pressure consistently. Third the price was about $800 less than the comparable Pressure-Pro unit I was looking at.

Four months of daily commercial use. The Honda engine is bulletproof as expected. The pump has been quiet and consistent. The unloader valve has not given me any trouble (which is a common failure point on commercial washers). Frame has held up to daily loading and unloading from the trailer. Hose connections have stayed tight. Trigger gun feels a bit lighter than my old machine but functions fine.

If I had one wish it would be a slightly longer hose included from the factory. 50 feet is fine but I usually upgrade to 100 feet for our work. Otherwise no complaints at all.

Very strong cleaning power. We’ve used it on concrete, trailers, and equipment with excellent results.

A lot of pressure washers look impressive online but feel underbuilt once you start using them heavily.

This one feels much more commercial-grade.

A
Ashley M.

The frame construction feels solid and stable during operation. We transport this unit in our service trailer regularly and everything still feels tight and well-built.

Good machine.

One thing I appreciate is that the machine doesn’t feel overcomplicated. Straightforward setup, dependable operation, and easy maintenance access.

If you’re using a pressure washer professionally, reliability matters more than extra gimmicks.

This unit has been very dependable so far.

The Honda engine was the deciding factor

We looked at several pressure washers before buying this one, but the GX390 engine ultimately made the decision easier.

Reliable startup, smooth operation, and noticeably more confidence for long-term commercial use.

T
Travis D.

We purchased this unit primarily for fleet and equipment cleaning in our transportation business.

After several months of regular use, reliability has been excellent.

The Honda engine starts consistently even after sitting for periods between jobs, and the pressure output remains strong throughout longer cleaning sessions.

D
Derek H.

Starts consistently and has plenty of pressure for heavy cleaning jobs.

M
May S.

The pressure output feels very consistent compared to smaller units we’ve owned previously. Less fluctuation during extended operation.
