Triumph NSS-8XLT 8,000 lb Four Post Service & Storage Lift

Have a small collection of classic cars, two 1960s Mopars and a 1972 Pontiac. Garage space was the limiting factor. The NSS-8XLT lets me stack the daily on top with a Mopar underneath, freeing up another bay for my wife. Drive-on design is straightforward and the lift action is smooth even with heavier vehicles.

Initially she was skeptical of dropping the money on a lift for the garage but once I showed her how it lets us fit three cars in a two car garage with her daily on top, she became the biggest advocate. Solid investment for any family with too many cars and not enough space.

Bought the NSS-8XLT specifically to double-stack my daily driver above my project Mustang. Garage went from cramped to actually workable overnight. The 8 foot lift height is plenty to walk under and work on the car below. Built solid, all the safety locks engage with positive clicks.

Did the install myself in my home garage over a long weekend. Heavier pieces required some help from a buddy but nothing crazy. Took my time, did it right, calibrated the lift heights using the included setup procedure. Six months in and the lift has been rock solid for both storage and occasional work.

Use this 4 post lift as a hybrid. Daily driver lives on top so my wife can park inside, then on weekends I can pull the daily off and use the lift to work on my truck below. Best of both worlds and a 4 post lift was the only way to make it work.

Called Blue Collar Planet because I was deciding between the X1 lift gate delivery and the standard XLT version. Nuke was super helpful, explained the trade-offs and the cost difference and helped me decide based on my driveway and the truck access. Ended up with the XLT which suited my situation. Solid lift, ALI certified construction, and the freight delivery was painless.

Garage queen 1969 Pontiac GTO lives under my F-250 most of the year. Truck weighs about 6500 lb empty, the lift handles it with margin. Safety locks click solidly into place. Two years in and have not had a single concern about the lift holding.

Bought it primarily for storage but I find myself using it for service work way more than I expected. Oil changes, brake jobs, exhaust work, all easier with the car at chest height. The optional rolling jack accessory is on my list for actual wheel-off work but for everything else this lift gets the job done.

My garage ceiling is 9.5 feet and the 94-inch overall height gave me plenty of clearance. If your ceiling is borderline, double-check the 94-inch spec before ordering. Mine worked perfectly with room to spare.

Lift overall is great. Capacity is honest, lift speed is reasonable, the platform feels stable at all heights. My one gripe is the locking position release lever can occasionally hang up if you do not raise the lift a hair above the lock first. Took some practice to figure out the technique. Once you get it its not an issue but it caught me off guard the first few times. Otherwise a great lift for the price.

Drive-through width of 99 inches is comfortable. I pull in with confidence even in my wider truck. Never feel like I'm threading the needle or worrying about clipping the runways on entry.

The single-point lock release is simple and intuitive. One handle releases both sides simultaneously. No fumbling around trying to release two separate mechanisms while the car is in the air.

One thing I noticed when shopping for four-post lifts is that a lot of them feel tight once you start parking full-size trucks or larger SUVs on them.

The NSS-8XLT feels much more accommodating. We’ve had long-wheelbase trucks and larger family SUVs on it already without feeling cramped.

For someone who wanted to turn a 2-car garage into a 4-car garage this is the perfect solution. I now store four vehicles in the space that used to hold two. Completely transformed my property.

I mainly use this for storing my truck above my weekend car, but it’s also been incredibly useful during maintenance work.

The longer platform length on the XLT version was the main reason I chose it because modern trucks and SUVs keep getting bigger. Glad I did because everything fits comfortably.
