Warranty

Warranty
Warranty basics
Challenger Lifts, Inc. (CLI) warrants its lifts to the original owner only; the coverage is not transferable. CLI will, at its discretion, repair or replace any part that is found on inspection to be defective during the applicable warranty period. Coverage applies only when the lift is installed, operated, and maintained in line with CLI's installation, operation, and maintenance instructions. Using unapproved parts or accessories voids the warranty, as does any repair attempted by someone who is not a CLI authorized service representative. Normal maintenance, adjustments, wear and tear, and damage from improper handling, abuse, misuse, or negligence are not covered. The warranty is valid only if the lift is registered with Challenger Lifts; registration must be completed online (challengerlifts.com/register-your-lift), otherwise the warranty period begins from the invoice date of purchase.
Warranty length
5 years on structural parts, 2 years on functional parts, and 1 year on labor. Structural parts include the carriage, columns, column extensions, overhead beams, arms, cross beams, runways, wheel stops, ramps, bolsters, sync rails, and plungers. Functional parts include power units, cylinders, sheaves, sheave pins, hoses, hydraulic and pneumatic fittings, cables, adapters, latches, valves, and controls.
Remedies and costs
Repair or replacement of defective parts is the exclusive remedy under this warranty. For the covered period, CLI also pays reasonable transportation and/or labor costs to replace those parts. This warranty is exclusive and replaces all other warranties, express or implied, including any implied warranty of fitness for a particular purpose, which is expressly excluded. No employee, agent, dealer, or other party may extend warranties on CLI's behalf. CLI is not liable for special, consequential, or incidental damages arising from any breach or delay in performance of the warranty. The warranty is governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Kentucky and is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Jefferson County, Kentucky.

FAQs

What is the lifting capacity of the Challenger 44018? ▾
All three models in the 44018 Series - the 44018, 44018E, and 44018AR - share the same 18,000 lb lifting capacity. This rating accommodates medium-duty transit vehicles, delivery trucks, and commercial fleet equipment.
What is the difference between the 44018, 44018E, and 44018AR models? ▾
The primary differences are wheelbase capacity and alignment capability. The standard 44018 handles wheelbases up to 194" with 259" overall length. The 44018E extends to 230" wheelbase with 292" overall length for longer vehicles. The 44018AR is the alignment model with 236" wheelbase capacity, 311.5" overall length, and integrated alignment turnplates and slip plates for four-wheel alignments on vehicles with 98" to 206" wheelbase.
What are the electrical requirements for the 44018? ▾
The 44018 Series requires 208-230V single-phase power with a 30-amp dedicated circuit. The 3HP motor provides a 60-second rise time. A licensed electrician should install the electrical supply with appropriate disconnect per local codes. Contact Challenger for three-phase power options if your facility requires them.
What are the concrete requirements for installation? ▾
The 44018 requires a minimum 4" thick reinforced concrete floor with 3,000 PSI compressive strength. The concrete must be fully cured and free of cracks, seams, or expansion joints in the anchor locations. Consult the installation manual for specific anchor patterns and recommended hardware.
What is covered under the Challenger warranty? ▾
Challenger provides a tiered warranty: 5 years on structural components including columns, runways, and frames; 2 years on hydraulic cylinders and power unit; and 1 year on electrical components, seals, and wear items. Warranty requires professional installation and proper maintenance per Challenger specifications.
What is included with the lift purchase? ▾
The 44018 includes the complete lift structure, diamond-plate approach ramps with roller wheels, 3HP power unit, single-point air-actuated lock release, built-in runway rail system, mounting hardware, and installation manual. The 44018AR alignment model also includes turnplates and slip plates. Optional accessories like rolling jacks and oil drain pans are sold separately.
How is the 44018 shipped and what do I need for delivery? ▾
The 44018 ships via freight truck with free delivery to commercial addresses in the 48 contiguous states. You will need a forklift with minimum 6,000 lb capacity to unload. Delivery is curbside to commercial addresses. Inspect all packages before signing the Bill of Lading and note any visible damage on the delivery receipt.
What accessories work with the built-in runway rail system? ▾
The integrated runway rail system accepts Challenger rolling jacks and oil drain pans designed for 4-post lifts. These accessories slide along the rails for easy positioning under the vehicle. Note that rolling jack applications require fixed runways with spacing of 33-15/16" to 41-11/16". Contact us for compatible accessory options.
Can I do wheel alignments on the standard 44018 or 44018E? ▾
The standard 44018 and 44018E models are designed for general service and do not include alignment capability. For wheel alignment work, you need the 44018AR model which includes integrated turnplates and slip plates with four-wheel alignment range of 98" to 206" and two-wheel alignment capacity up to 220".
What is the ceiling height requirement? ▾
The 44018 has an overall height of 102.5" at full rise. Your ceiling must accommodate this height plus the height of the tallest vehicle you plan to lift at full rise, plus adequate clearance for lighting and safety. Plan for at least 14-16 feet of ceiling height for most applications.
Is professional installation required? ▾
While not strictly required, professional installation is strongly recommended. Proper installation ensures safe operation, validates your warranty coverage, and confirms compliance with ALI and OSHA requirements. Contact Garage Supply Guys for installation service referrals in your area.
