Warranty

Warranty
Warranty basics
Challenger Lifts, Inc. (CLI) warrants its lifts to the original owner only; the coverage is not transferable. CLI will, at its discretion, repair or replace any part that is found on inspection to be defective during the applicable warranty period. Coverage applies only when the lift is installed, operated, and maintained in line with CLI's installation, operation, and maintenance instructions. Using unapproved parts or accessories voids the warranty, as does any repair attempted by someone who is not a CLI authorized service representative. Normal maintenance, adjustments, wear and tear, and damage from improper handling, abuse, misuse, or negligence are not covered. The warranty is valid only if the lift is registered with Challenger Lifts; registration must be completed online (challengerlifts.com/register-your-lift), otherwise the warranty period begins from the invoice date of purchase.
Warranty length
5 years on structural parts, 2 years on functional parts, and 1 year on labor. Structural parts include the carriage, columns, column extensions, overhead beams, arms, cross beams, runways, wheel stops, ramps, bolsters, sync rails, and plungers. Functional parts include power units, cylinders, sheaves, sheave pins, hoses, hydraulic and pneumatic fittings, cables, adapters, latches, valves, and controls.
Remedies and costs
Repair or replacement of defective parts is the exclusive remedy under this warranty. For the covered period, CLI also pays reasonable transportation and/or labor costs to replace those parts. This warranty is exclusive and replaces all other warranties, express or implied, including any implied warranty of fitness for a particular purpose, which is expressly excluded. No employee, agent, dealer, or other party may extend warranties on CLI's behalf. CLI is not liable for special, consequential, or incidental damages arising from any breach or delay in performance of the warranty. The warranty is governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Kentucky and is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Jefferson County, Kentucky.

FAQs

What is the maximum lifting capacity of the Challenger AR44018AR? ▾
The system has a maximum lifting capacity of 18,000 lb (8,165 kg), making it suitable for heavier passenger vehicles, extended-cab trucks, light commercial platforms, and fleet alignment operations. This capacity enables shops to service vehicle classes beyond standard automotive alignment racks while maintaining consistent performance. The four-post column structure distributes load evenly across the lift platform with integrated load-sensing systems ensuring vehicle stability throughout lift and service cycles.
What is the alignment range for 4-wheel and 2-wheel alignment? ▾
The system accommodates 4-wheel alignment operations on vehicles with wheelbases from 98 inches to 206 inches (2,489–5,232 mm), with 2-wheel alignment capability extending to 220 inches (5,588 mm) maximum. This extended range enables professional shops to perform comprehensive alignment procedures on longer wheelbase platforms including extended-cab pickups, commercial vans, and specialty vehicles. The defined alignment spans ensure measurement accuracy across the full platform range.
What accessories are included with the AR44018AR? ▾
The package includes two RJ9A rolling jacks rated at 9,000 lb capacity each for flexible vehicle positioning, stainless steel turning radius gauges for precise wheel position alignment, dual built-in rear slip plates for multi-position vehicle repositioning, and an internal airline kit for pneumatic operations. This integrated accessory set provides professional-grade alignment components and eliminates separate sourcing requirements while ensuring manufacturer-matched component compatibility.
What are the electrical requirements for the AR44018AR? ▾
The system operates on 208–230V, single-phase power with a 3 HP motor for chain-driven lift and descent operations. Single-phase electrical compatibility eliminates the need for expensive three-phase service upgrades, phase converter equipment, or dedicated circuits. Most automotive and commercial service bays have standard single-phase power already available, making installation straightforward without major electrical infrastructure modifications or cost overruns.
Why is chain-driven design beneficial compared to hydraulic-only systems? ▾
Chain-driven lifting mechanisms provide synchronized smooth operation across the four-post platform with mechanical redundancy that prevents uneven descent or binding. Unlike hydraulic synchronization alone, chain-driven systems maintain consistent speed and force distribution even under extended shop cycles and high-utilization environments. This mechanical drive approach is engineered for long service life in facilities performing 20–40 lift cycles per day without requiring frequent maintenance.
What certifications does the AR44018AR carry? ▾
The AR44018AR is ALI (Automotive Lift Institute) certified for lift safety standards and ETL certified for electrical and structural compliance. These dual certifications from recognized third-party testing authorities provide documented validation of safety performance, load-handling capacity for heavy-duty commercial use, and electrical system integrity. ALI certification validates four-post lift safety interlocks and load stability under high-cycle operational conditions, while ETL certification ensures electrical motor safety and control system fault protection.
What are the foundation and bay requirements for installation? ▾
Installation requires service bay depth accommodating approximately 311.5 inches extended length, heavy-duty reinforced concrete floor minimum 4 inches (verify specific requirements per manufacturer installation manual), and proper anchoring in compliance with ALI lift safety standards. Proper concrete foundation and anchoring are required for safe operation and load stability under high-cycle commercial use. Local building codes and permit requirements must be verified before installation.
