Warranty

Warranty
Warranty basics
Challenger Lifts, Inc. (CLI) warrants its lifts to the original owner only; the coverage is not transferable. CLI will, at its discretion, repair or replace any part that is found on inspection to be defective during the applicable warranty period. Coverage applies only when the lift is installed, operated, and maintained in line with CLI's installation, operation, and maintenance instructions. Using unapproved parts or accessories voids the warranty, as does any repair attempted by someone who is not a CLI authorized service representative. Normal maintenance, adjustments, wear and tear, and damage from improper handling, abuse, misuse, or negligence are not covered. The warranty is valid only if the lift is registered with Challenger Lifts; registration must be completed online (challengerlifts.com/register-your-lift), otherwise the warranty period begins from the invoice date of purchase.
Warranty length
5 years on structural parts, 2 years on functional parts, and 1 year on labor. Structural parts include the carriage, columns, column extensions, overhead beams, arms, cross beams, runways, wheel stops, ramps, bolsters, sync rails, and plungers. Functional parts include power units, cylinders, sheaves, sheave pins, hoses, hydraulic and pneumatic fittings, cables, adapters, latches, valves, and controls.
Remedies and costs
Repair or replacement of defective parts is the exclusive remedy under this warranty. For the covered period, CLI also pays reasonable transportation and/or labor costs to replace those parts. This warranty is exclusive and replaces all other warranties, express or implied, including any implied warranty of fitness for a particular purpose, which is expressly excluded. No employee, agent, dealer, or other party may extend warranties on CLI's behalf. CLI is not liable for special, consequential, or incidental damages arising from any breach or delay in performance of the warranty. The warranty is governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Kentucky and is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Jefferson County, Kentucky.

FAQs

What is the maximum lifting capacity of the Challenger CL16? ▾
The Challenger CL16 has a maximum lifting capacity of 16,000 lbs with a symmetric lift configuration. Each of the four arms can support up to 4,000 lbs for a total combined capacity of 16,000 lbs when loads are properly distributed.
What ceiling height do I need for the CL16? ▾
Ceiling height requirements depend on the model configuration. The standard height models (CL16-0-3S) require minimum ceiling heights of 13'8", 14'2", or 14'8" depending on column height selected. Extended height models (CL16-2-3S) require 15'8", 16'2", or 16'8" minimum ceiling height.
What are the electrical requirements for the CL16? ▾
The CL16 requires 208/230V single-phase power at 60Hz to operate the 3HP motor. A dedicated circuit installed by a licensed electrician is required. The lift also requires compressed air supply at 90-120 psi for the single-point air actuated lock release system.
Is professional installation required? ▾
While professional installation is not strictly required, it is strongly recommended. Proper installation ensures safe operation, optimal performance, and maintains warranty coverage. Improper installation can void the warranty and create safety hazards. Contact us for installation service referrals in your area.
What is included with the CL16 purchase? ▾
Every CL16 includes the complete lift assembly, Stack Adapter Kit (P/N 10315), low-profile pickup pads, 3HP power unit, heavy-duty equalization cables, 5" steel pulleys, dual rubber door guards, anchor bolts, mounting hardware, and installation manual. Electrical wiring, air supply, concrete work, and installation labor are not included.
How is the CL16 shipped and delivered? ▾
The CL16 ships via freight carrier with free shipping to commercial addresses in the 48 contiguous United States. Lead time is typically 5-10 business days. Curbside delivery is standard, and you will need a forklift or loading dock to unload. Always inspect shipments for damage before signing the Bill of Lading.
Can the CL16 lift electric vehicles? ▾
Yes, the CL16 is designed to handle electric vehicles. With its 16,000 lb capacity and extended arm reach up to 75", it can accommodate the heavier battery packs found in electric trucks and SUVs. The 3-stage adjustable arms provide flexibility for proper lift point positioning on EV platforms.
What is the difference between the CL16-0-3S and CL16-2-3S? ▾
The CL16-0-3S is the standard height model with overall height options of 162", 168", or 174" and minimum ceiling requirements starting at 13'8". The CL16-2-3S is the extended height model with overall heights of 186", 192", or 198" for shops with taller ceilings (minimum 15'8"). Both models have identical 16,000 lb capacity and arm specifications.
What concrete requirements does the CL16 need? ▾
The CL16 requires a minimum 4" thick reinforced concrete floor with at least 3,000 PSI compressive strength. The concrete must be properly cured and free of cracks or voids at anchor locations. Refer to the installation manual for specific anchor bolt patterns and torque specifications.
How long does it take to raise a vehicle? ▾
The CL16 has a rise time of 62 seconds from floor level to maximum height. The single-point air actuated lock release allows quick and simultaneous disengagement of both column locks for efficient lowering.
Is the Challenger CL16 ALI Certified? ▾
Yes, the Challenger CL16 is ALI Certified, meaning it has been tested and verified to meet the rigorous safety and performance standards established by the Automotive Lift Institute. ALI Certification provides assurance that the lift meets industry standards for design, construction, and capacity ratings.
