Warranty

Warranty
Warranty basics
Challenger Lifts, Inc. (CLI) warrants its lifts to the original owner only; the coverage is not transferable. CLI will, at its discretion, repair or replace any part that is found on inspection to be defective during the applicable warranty period. Coverage applies only when the lift is installed, operated, and maintained in line with CLI's installation, operation, and maintenance instructions. Using unapproved parts or accessories voids the warranty, as does any repair attempted by someone who is not a CLI authorized service representative. Normal maintenance, adjustments, wear and tear, and damage from improper handling, abuse, misuse, or negligence are not covered. The warranty is valid only if the lift is registered with Challenger Lifts; registration must be completed online (challengerlifts.com/register-your-lift), otherwise the warranty period begins from the invoice date of purchase.
Warranty length
5 years on structural parts, 2 years on functional parts, and 1 year on labor. Structural parts include the carriage, columns, column extensions, overhead beams, arms, cross beams, runways, wheel stops, ramps, bolsters, sync rails, and plungers. Functional parts include power units, cylinders, sheaves, sheave pins, hoses, hydraulic and pneumatic fittings, cables, adapters, latches, valves, and controls.
Remedies and costs
Repair or replacement of defective parts is the exclusive remedy under this warranty. For the covered period, CLI also pays reasonable transportation and/or labor costs to replace those parts. This warranty is exclusive and replaces all other warranties, express or implied, including any implied warranty of fitness for a particular purpose, which is expressly excluded. No employee, agent, dealer, or other party may extend warranties on CLI's behalf. CLI is not liable for special, consequential, or incidental damages arising from any breach or delay in performance of the warranty. The warranty is governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Kentucky and is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Jefferson County, Kentucky.

FAQs

What is the maximum lifting capacity of the Challenger CL20? ▾
The Challenger CL20 has a maximum lifting capacity of 20,000 lb with a maximum load of 5,000 lb per arm. This capacity is ALI Certified, meaning it has been independently tested and verified to meet industry safety standards for professional use.
What ceiling height do I need for the CL20? ▾
Ceiling height requirements depend on the column height configuration selected. The standard CL20-0 requires a minimum ceiling height of 13'8", 14'2", or 14'8" depending on overall height chosen (162", 168", or 174"). The extended height CL20-2 requires 15'8", 16'2", or 16'8" minimum ceiling height for the 186", 192", or 198" configurations respectively.
What electrical requirements does the CL20 need? ▾
The CL20 requires a 208/230V, single-phase, 60Hz electrical supply for its 3HP motor. Additionally, compressed air at 90-120 psi is required for the pneumatic lock release system. A licensed electrician should install and verify the electrical supply meets all local codes.
Is professional installation required? ▾
While not strictly required, professional installation is strongly recommended. Proper installation by a qualified lift technician ensures safe operation, validates warranty coverage, and confirms compliance with ALI certification standards. Incorrect installation can void the warranty and create safety hazards.
What comes included with the CL20? ▾
The CL20 includes the complete two-post lift system: columns, 2-stage front and rear arms, 3HP hydraulic power unit, adjustable screw pads, stack adapters, overhead safety shutoff, anchor hardware, hydraulic hoses and fittings, and the installation manual. Optional accessories like 2' column extensions and truck adapters are available separately.
How is the CL20 shipped and what do I need for delivery? ▾
The CL20 ships via freight truck with free delivery to commercial addresses in the 48 contiguous states. You will need a forklift or loading dock to unload the palletized components. Curbside delivery is standard. Inspect all packages before signing the bill of lading and note any damage on the delivery receipt.
What is the difference between the CL20-0 and CL20-2? ▾
The CL20-0 is the standard height model with overall height options of 162", 168", or 174" and requires 13'8" to 14'8" minimum ceiling height. The CL20-2 is the extended height model with options of 186", 192", or 198" overall height, requiring 15'8" to 16'8" ceiling height. Both share the same 20,000 lb capacity and arm specifications.
What concrete requirements are needed for installation? ▾
The CL20 requires a minimum 4" thick reinforced concrete floor with at least 3,000 PSI compressive strength. The concrete must be fully cured and free of cracks, voids, or damage at the anchor locations. Heavy-duty anchor bolts are included for securing the columns to the floor.
How fast does the CL20 raise a vehicle? ▾
The CL20 achieves full rise in approximately 62 seconds, powered by its 3HP single-phase hydraulic motor. This quick cycle time helps maximize productivity in busy fleet maintenance operations.
Can I use column extensions with the CL20? ▾
Yes, optional 2' column extensions are available for the CL20, allowing you to service taller vehicles. The extensions increase overall height capacity while maintaining the lift's rated capacity. Contact us for availability and compatibility details.
What is the drive-thru clearance of the CL20? ▾
The CL20 offers drive-thru clearance options of 104.25", 110.25", or 116.25" depending on the column width configuration selected. Overall width options range from 154.75" to 166.75", with between-column spacing of 120", 126", or 132".
