Warranty

Warranty
Warranty basics
Challenger Lifts, Inc. (CLI) warrants its lifts to the original owner only; the coverage is not transferable. CLI will, at its discretion, repair or replace any part that is found on inspection to be defective during the applicable warranty period. Coverage applies only when the lift is installed, operated, and maintained in line with CLI's installation, operation, and maintenance instructions. Using unapproved parts or accessories voids the warranty, as does any repair attempted by someone who is not a CLI authorized service representative. Normal maintenance, adjustments, wear and tear, and damage from improper handling, abuse, misuse, or negligence are not covered. The warranty is valid only if the lift is registered with Challenger Lifts; registration must be completed online (challengerlifts.com/register-your-lift), otherwise the warranty period begins from the invoice date of purchase.
Warranty length
5 years on structural parts, 2 years on functional parts, and 1 year on labor. Structural parts include the carriage, columns, column extensions, overhead beams, arms, cross beams, runways, wheel stops, ramps, bolsters, sync rails, and plungers. Functional parts include power units, cylinders, sheaves, sheave pins, hoses, hydraulic and pneumatic fittings, cables, adapters, latches, valves, and controls.
Remedies and costs
Repair or replacement of defective parts is the exclusive remedy under this warranty. For the covered period, CLI also pays reasonable transportation and/or labor costs to replace those parts. This warranty is exclusive and replaces all other warranties, express or implied, including any implied warranty of fitness for a particular purpose, which is expressly excluded. No employee, agent, dealer, or other party may extend warranties on CLI's behalf. CLI is not liable for special, consequential, or incidental damages arising from any breach or delay in performance of the warranty. The warranty is governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Kentucky and is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Jefferson County, Kentucky.

FAQs

What is the total lifting capacity of the CLHM-190 system? ▾
Each CLHM-190 column has a lifting capacity of 19,000 lb. When used as a set of two columns, total capacity is 38,000 lb. For heavy-duty applications, you can use up to eight columns together for a maximum lifting capacity of 152,000 lb, making this system capable of lifting large commercial trucks, buses, and transit vehicles.
How much space do I need for the CLHM-190 mobile columns? ▾
Challenger recommends a minimum bay width of 14' 8" (14' recommended) and a bay length of 28' for servicing full-size heavy-duty trucks and buses. Each column has a footprint of 650 square inches with dimensions of 44.25" wide by 53.625" long. The columns have a 47" turning radius for maneuvering into position.
What are the electrical requirements for the CLHM-190? ▾
The CLHM-190 operates on battery power during lifting operations, requiring no electrical hookup while in use. Each column has a built-in multi-stage charging system that requires 120 VAC @ 60 Hz, 1.3 Amps for charging between uses. Standard 120-volt outlets are sufficient for the charging system.
Can the CLHM-190 be used outdoors? ▾
Yes, the CLHM-190 can be operated on almost any solid surface, indoors or outdoors. The battery-powered, wireless design eliminates the need for permanent electrical connections, making these columns ideal for outdoor fleet yards, parking areas, and facilities without permanent lift installations.
What is included with each CLHM-190 column? ▾
Each CLHM-190 column includes the lift unit with integrated touch screen control console, built-in 110V multi-stage charging system, installed 12-volt deep cycle batteries, heavy-duty tow handle, adjustable wheel carriage, and installation/operation manual. Columns are sold individually and typically purchased in sets of 2, 4, 6, or 8.
How is the CLHM-190 shipped and what do I need for delivery? ▾
The CLHM-190 ships via freight to commercial addresses in the 48 contiguous states with free shipping. Each column weighs 1,510 lb, so you will need a forklift or loading dock for unloading. Curbside delivery is standard. Inspect all packages for damage before signing the bill of lading and note any damage on the delivery receipt.
What accessories are available for the CLHM-190? ▾
Challenger offers a wide range of accessories to customize the CLHM-190 for specialty applications including heavy-duty truck adapters, transit and municipality vehicle accessories, forklift lifting adapters, and cab removal accessories for standard pickup trucks. Contact our sales team for specific accessory recommendations for your application.
What is the difference between the CLHM-140 and CLHM-190? ▾
The primary difference is lifting capacity: the CLHM-140 offers 14,000 lb capacity per column while the CLHM-190 provides 19,000 lb per column. The CLHM-190 also has higher maximum hydraulic pressure (2,600 psi vs 2,180 psi) and slightly higher weight (1,510 lb vs 1,485 lb). Both models share the same dimensions and features.
How does the wireless system work on the CLHM-190? ▾
The CLHM-190 uses a wireless communication system with 12 radio frequencies and a wide channel range to prevent radio interference. Each column operates independently on battery power with no cables connecting the units. The integrated touch screen at each column allows operation from any unit, and linear position transducers maintain precise synchronization across all columns.
What tire sizes can the CLHM-190 accommodate? ▾
The adjustable wheel carriage on the CLHM-190 accommodates wheel diameters from 5" minimum to 24.5" maximum. This range covers most passenger vehicles, light trucks, medium-duty trucks, and heavy-duty commercial vehicles. For the wide version (CLHM-190W), minimum wheel diameter is 4" with maximum determined by tire diameter.
Is the CLHM-190 ALI certified? ▾
Yes, the Challenger CLHM-190 is ALI (Automotive Lift Institute) certified and ETL certified, meeting industry safety standards for automotive lifting equipment. ALI certification ensures the lift has been tested and meets ANSI/ALI ALCTV safety standards for vehicle lifts.
