Warranty

Warranty
Warranty basics
Challenger Lifts, Inc. (CLI) warrants its lifts to the original owner only; the coverage is not transferable. CLI will, at its discretion, repair or replace any part that is found on inspection to be defective during the applicable warranty period. Coverage applies only when the lift is installed, operated, and maintained in line with CLI's installation, operation, and maintenance instructions. Using unapproved parts or accessories voids the warranty, as does any repair attempted by someone who is not a CLI authorized service representative. Normal maintenance, adjustments, wear and tear, and damage from improper handling, abuse, misuse, or negligence are not covered. The warranty is valid only if the lift is registered with Challenger Lifts; registration must be completed online (challengerlifts.com/register-your-lift), otherwise the warranty period begins from the invoice date of purchase.
Warranty length
5 years on structural parts, 2 years on functional parts, and 1 year on labor. Structural parts include the carriage, columns, column extensions, overhead beams, arms, cross beams, runways, wheel stops, ramps, bolsters, sync rails, and plungers. Functional parts include power units, cylinders, sheaves, sheave pins, hoses, hydraulic and pneumatic fittings, cables, adapters, latches, valves, and controls.
Remedies and costs
Repair or replacement of defective parts is the exclusive remedy under this warranty. For the covered period, CLI also pays reasonable transportation and/or labor costs to replace those parts. This warranty is exclusive and replaces all other warranties, express or implied, including any implied warranty of fitness for a particular purpose, which is expressly excluded. No employee, agent, dealer, or other party may extend warranties on CLI's behalf. CLI is not liable for special, consequential, or incidental damages arising from any breach or delay in performance of the warranty. The warranty is governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Kentucky and is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Jefferson County, Kentucky.

FAQs

What is the lifting capacity of the Challenger EV1020? ▾
The EV1020 and EV1020-QC models have a 10,000 lb lifting capacity with 2,500 lbs per arm. The XP9 drive-on pad models (EV1020XP9 and EV1020XP9-QC) have a 9,000 lb capacity with 4,500 lbs per pad. All models are ALI/ETL certified for professional use.
What is the difference between standard and Quick Cycle (QC) models? ▾
Quick Cycle models reduce vehicle travel time by 30 percent. Standard models rise in 38 seconds, while QC models rise in just 27 seconds and lower in only 17 seconds. This increased speed improves technician productivity in high-volume service environments.
What electrical power does the EV1020 require? ▾
The EV1020 requires 208V-230V, 60Hz, single-phase power. The lift uses a 2HP motor. A licensed electrician should install and verify the electrical supply meets all requirements and local codes.
What is the difference between the standard arms and XP9 drive-on pads? ▾
Standard EV1020 models feature 3-stage front and rear lifting arms with adjustable reach from 19.625" to 42.125", ideal for accessing vehicle lift points. XP9 models use drive-on style pads that aid in quick vehicle spotting, making them better suited for express service bays where speed is critical.
What are the installation requirements for an inground lift? ▾
Inground lift installation requires excavation and concrete work to accommodate the cassette tub, a 208V-230V single-phase electrical supply, and 90-120 PSI compressed air. Professional installation is strongly recommended to ensure safe operation and maintain warranty coverage.
How is the EV1020 shipped and what do I need for delivery? ▾
The EV1020 ships via freight to commercial addresses in the 48 contiguous states with free shipping. You will need a forklift or loading dock to unload the equipment. Curbside delivery is standard. Always inspect shipments for damage before signing the bill of lading.
What colors are available for the EV1020? ▾
The EV1020 and EV1020-QC models with arms are available in Red, Blue, or Black powder coat finish. The XP9 drive-on pad models are available in Black only. The premium powder coat finish provides long-lasting durability.
What is the drive-thru clearance and why does it matter? ▾
The EV1020 provides 87" drive-thru clearance between the arms, accommodating wider vehicles and minimizing tire damage during positioning. This generous clearance makes vehicle spotting easier and faster, improving shop efficiency.
How does the cassette tub protect against contamination? ▾
The fully-contained and sealed recycled polymer cassette tub completely encloses the hydraulic components, eliminating any risk of hydraulic fluid seeping into the ground. This environmentally responsible design protects your facility from contamination liability.
What maintenance does the EV1020 require? ▾
Regular maintenance includes inspecting arm pads and adapters, checking hydraulic fluid levels, lubricating moving components, and verifying safety lock operation. Refer to the installation and operation manual for the complete maintenance schedule and procedures.
Can I upgrade or customize my EV1020 lift? ▾
Yes, Challenger offers a wide range of upgrades to customize your lift fleet. Contact our equipment specialists to discuss available options and accessories that can expand your lift's capabilities for specialized applications.
