FAQs

Do self-dumping hoppers come with casters?

Casters are available for D-Style Self-Dumping Hoppers. Multiple caster options can be selected from the hopper caster options page.

Can the size of the self-dumping hopper be modified?

The hopper width may be modified depending on the application.

The hopper length cannot be modified. Please contact a sales associate for additional details.

What do the LD, MD, and HD hopper ratings mean?
  • LD (Light Duty) — 12 gauge steel with a 2,000 lb. capacity
  • MD (Medium Duty) — 10 gauge steel with a 4,000 lb. capacity
  • HD (Heavy Duty) — 8 gauge steel with a 6,000 lb. capacity
What is the bolt hole pattern for the caster installation?

The caster mounting holes are punched at the front and back of each fork tube.

The hole diameter is 7/16".

Can the hoppers be used with a telehandler?

No. These hoppers are designed for use with powered forklift trucks and are not recommended for telehandler use.

Which caster type is recommended for the hopper?

Mold-on rubber and poly-on-steel casters feature softer treads for quieter operation and better performance on uneven floors.

Glass-filled nylon casters provide a smoother rolling experience, while semi-steel and ductile steel casters offer maximum durability.

A sales associate can help determine the correct caster kit based on hopper size and capacity requirements.

What is the lifting lug capacity?

The lifting lug capacity matches the rated capacity of the hopper.

Does the D-TILT option need to be installed when ordering the hopper?

No. The D-TILT option can be customer-installed or field-installed after purchase.
