The Vestil LMS Shorty Lift Master Boom is the most compact forklift boom in Vestil's lineup — engineered specifically for tight indoor spaces, confined work zones, and operations where standard 4-12 foot boom reach would be impossible to maneuver or unnecessary for the job. With overall boom lengths of just 40" (non-telescoping) or 46" (telescoping, retracted), built-in fork pockets with safety strap, robotically welded construction, and two integrated lifting hooks, the LMS series converts your forklift into a compact overhead lifting crane that fits where full-size booms can't. Ideal for auto body shops doing engine pulls in small bays, marine service shops handling outboard motors, mechanic shops with confined service areas, machine shops doing die changes and motor replacements, HVAC service operations at customer sites, light maintenance teams handling pumps and motors, trade schools and vocational training programs, restoration enthusiasts, and any operation where boom capability is needed but boom reach is not.

Why "Shorty" — When Compact Reach Beats Long Reach: Standard forklift booms (LM-1NT, LM-1T, LM-EBNT, LM-EBT) deliver reach measured in feet — typically 4 to 12 feet of horizontal extension. That's overkill or physically unworkable when your operation involves: lifting an engine straight up out of an engine bay, swapping a motor inside a tight equipment housing, pulling a pump from a confined utility room, handling a transmission inside a service bay, or any application where the load is RIGHT THERE in front of the forklift. The LMS Shorty trades reach for compactness — fitting through doorways and into tight bays that would block a full-size boom, while still delivering the full lifting capacity (up to 8,000 lbs) needed for serious mechanical work.

Choose Your Configuration — Two Critical Decisions:

• Boom Type — Non-Telescoping (40" length) or Telescoping (46" retracted): Non-telescoping LMS-EBNT-40 variants have a fixed 40" overall boom length — simpler, lighter, lower cost, ideal when lift distances are predictable. Telescoping LMS-EBT-46 variants start at 46" retracted and extend further when needed — useful when occasional reach extension matters, with the trade-off of higher cost and slightly heavier weight.
• Capacity — 4,000 / 6,000 / 8,000 lb: Match to your forklift's de-rated capacity at the load center, NOT the forklift's nameplate rating. Adding any boom shifts the load center forward, reducing the forklift's effective capacity. Heavier capacity LMS variants also have wider overall stance for stability (32" wide at 4K, 38" wide at 6K, 44" wide at 8K).

Robotically Welded Construction: Unlike Vestil's standard LM family (AWS-welded manually), the LMS Shorty series uses ROBOTIC WELDING for every critical joint. Robotic welding delivers two key benefits: (1) precision repeatability — every weld is identical to specification, eliminating human variation; and (2) consistent penetration — automated control of heat input, travel speed, and arc length produces structurally optimal welds without variability. The result is consistent product quality across production batches.

Standard Construction Features: Built-in fork pockets allow quick attachment to your forklift's forks without separate adapters. The safety strap securely attaches the boom to the forklift, preventing accidental dislodging during operation. Two integrated lifting hooks at the boom end allow flexible single-point or spread-load rigging. An operations and capacity sticker is applied to every boom — providing clear user instructions and safety information at the point of use. Painted blue finish for visibility and corrosion resistance.

⚠️ 24" Fork Pocket Center Only: The LMS Shorty series ships exclusively with 24" fork pocket center spacing — the most common mid-size forklift fork spread. Verify your forklift's fork pocket center matches 24" before ordering. If your forklift has different fork spread (11" narrow forks, 30" or 36" wide forks), consider our standard LM-EBNT/LM-EBT series (which offers multiple fork pocket center options) or contact us about custom fabrication.

Custom Fork Pocket Sizes Available: Standard fork pocket dimensions ship with each boom. Alternative fork pocket sizes (8.25" × 4.25", 7" × 3", or 9" × 3") are available — contact us before ordering to specify your forklift's fork dimensions and we'll configure the boom to match.

Lightweight Advantage: At 214-432 lbs depending on configuration, the LMS Shorty is the lightest boom in Vestil's lineup — 17-23% lighter than equivalent LM-EBNT standard economy variants. This means easier one-person installation/removal (no second forklift typically needed), more compact storage when not in use, lower forklift lost load impact, and lower shipping costs.

⚠️ Load Center Safety Notice: NEVER EXCEED LOAD CENTER RATING PER FORKLIFT MANUFACTURER'S GUIDELINES. Adding any attachment shifts the load center forward, reducing the forklift's effective capacity.
