Warranty

Warranty
Warranty basics
Challenger Lifts, Inc. (CLI) warrants its lifts to the original owner only; the coverage is not transferable. CLI will, at its discretion, repair or replace any part that is found on inspection to be defective during the applicable warranty period. Coverage applies only when the lift is installed, operated, and maintained in line with CLI's installation, operation, and maintenance instructions. Using unapproved parts or accessories voids the warranty, as does any repair attempted by someone who is not a CLI authorized service representative. Normal maintenance, adjustments, wear and tear, and damage from improper handling, abuse, misuse, or negligence are not covered. The warranty is valid only if the lift is registered with Challenger Lifts; registration must be completed online (challengerlifts.com/register-your-lift), otherwise the warranty period begins from the invoice date of purchase.
Warranty length
5 years on structural parts, 2 years on functional parts, and 1 year on labor. Structural parts include the carriage, columns, column extensions, overhead beams, arms, cross beams, runways, wheel stops, ramps, bolsters, sync rails, and plungers. Functional parts include power units, cylinders, sheaves, sheave pins, hoses, hydraulic and pneumatic fittings, cables, adapters, latches, valves, and controls.
Remedies and costs
Repair or replacement of defective parts is the exclusive remedy under this warranty. For the covered period, CLI also pays reasonable transportation and/or labor costs to replace those parts. This warranty is exclusive and replaces all other warranties, express or implied, including any implied warranty of fitness for a particular purpose, which is expressly excluded. No employee, agent, dealer, or other party may extend warranties on CLI's behalf. CLI is not liable for special, consequential, or incidental damages arising from any breach or delay in performance of the warranty. The warranty is governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Kentucky and is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Jefferson County, Kentucky.

FAQs

What is the maximum vehicle weight the 44050E can lift? ▾
The Challenger 44050E has a lifting capacity of 50,000 lb, making it suitable for heavy commercial vehicles including waste trucks, construction vehicles, and Class 6-8 trucks. Always ensure the gross vehicle weight does not exceed this capacity.
What is the difference between the 44050 and 44050E models? ▾
The "E" in 44050E designates the extended wheelbase model. The 44050E accommodates vehicles up to 370" wheelbase with a 41' overall length, while the standard 44050 handles up to 310" wheelbase with a 36' overall length. Both models share the same 50,000 lb capacity.
What electrical power is required for the 44050E? ▾
The 44050E requires 230-460V three-phase power. At 230V, the unit draws 42 amps; at 460V, it draws 21 amps. A licensed electrician must install the appropriate circuit and verify the electrical supply meets all requirements.
What are the concrete floor requirements? ▾
The lift requires a minimum 6" thick reinforced concrete floor with at least 3,000 PSI compressive strength. The floor must be level and free of cracks in the anchor locations. Refer to the installation manual for complete foundation specifications.
What does the 5-year structural warranty cover? ▾
The 5-year structural warranty covers the columns, runways, cross beams, ramps, and plungers. Functional parts including the power unit, cylinders, chains, and controls are covered for 1 year. Labor is covered for 1 year. The product must be registered at challengerlifts.com to activate warranty coverage.
What is included with the lift purchase? ▾
The 44050E includes the complete 4-post structure, dual hydraulic cylinders, chain drive system, 15HP power unit, 32" diamond-plate runways, approach ramps, lever controls, air actuated lock release, hardware kit, and installation manual. Rolling jacks are optional accessories sold separately.
How is the 44050E shipped and delivered? ▾
The lift ships via freight truck to commercial addresses in the contiguous 48 states with free shipping. A forklift or loading dock is required for unloading. Curbside delivery is standard. Inspect all packages before signing and note any damage on the delivery receipt.
What rolling jacks are compatible with the 44050E? ▾
Challenger offers optional rolling jacks from 15,000 lb to 35,000 lb capacity that are designed for use with the 44050E. These provide complete wheel-free service capability for brake, suspension, and tire work on heavy commercial vehicles.
How does the synchro-power system work? ▾
The synchro-power system uses dual heavy-duty cylinders with lever controls that allow variable or synchronous power to the front and/or rear of the lift independently. This enables operators to level vehicles with uneven weight distribution, such as waste trucks with heavier front or rear ends.
How long does it take to raise a vehicle? ▾
The 44050E has a rise speed of 70 seconds from floor level to full 73" rise height. The 10 lock positions allow technicians to stop at the optimal working height for each service task.
Is professional installation required? ▾
While not strictly required, professional installation is strongly recommended. Proper installation is necessary to maintain warranty coverage, and Challenger requires product registration to activate warranty benefits. The installation involves electrical work, concrete anchoring, and precise leveling.
What is the ceiling height requirement? ▾
The 44050E has an overall height of 92". You must also account for the height of the vehicle being lifted plus working clearance. A minimum ceiling height of 14-16 feet is typically recommended for commercial truck service applications.
