Warranty basics
Challenger Lifts, Inc. (CLI) warrants its lifts to the original owner only; the coverage is not transferable. CLI will, at its discretion, repair or replace any part that is found on inspection to be defective during the applicable warranty period. Coverage applies only when the lift is installed, operated, and maintained in line with CLI's installation, operation, and maintenance instructions. Using unapproved parts or accessories voids the warranty, as does any repair attempted by someone who is not a CLI authorized service representative. Normal maintenance, adjustments, wear and tear, and damage from improper handling, abuse, misuse, or negligence are not covered. The warranty is valid only if the lift is registered with Challenger Lifts; registration must be completed online (challengerlifts.com/register-your-lift), otherwise the warranty period begins from the invoice date of purchase.
Warranty length
5 years on structural parts, 2 years on functional parts, and 1 year on labor. Structural parts include the carriage, columns, column extensions, overhead beams, arms, cross beams, runways, wheel stops, ramps, bolsters, sync rails, and plungers. Functional parts include power units, cylinders, sheaves, sheave pins, hoses, hydraulic and pneumatic fittings, cables, adapters, latches, valves, and controls.
Remedies and costs
Repair or replacement of defective parts is the exclusive remedy under this warranty. For the covered period, CLI also pays reasonable transportation and/or labor costs to replace those parts. This warranty is exclusive and replaces all other warranties, express or implied, including any implied warranty of fitness for a particular purpose, which is expressly excluded. No employee, agent, dealer, or other party may extend warranties on CLI's behalf. CLI is not liable for special, consequential, or incidental damages arising from any breach or delay in performance of the warranty. The warranty is governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Kentucky and is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Jefferson County, Kentucky.

The Challenger 4P14EFX has a lifting capacity of 14,000 lbs, making it suitable for passenger cars, full-size trucks, SUVs, vans, and light commercial vehicles. The hydraulic system operates at 2,800 PSI at full capacity.
What is the difference between the 4P14EFX and 4P14XFX? ▾
Both models have the same 14,000 lb capacity, but the 4P14XFX is the extended length version. The 4P14EFX has a 182.5" maximum wheelbase and 245.75" overall length, while the 4P14XFX accommodates up to 210" wheelbase with 273.25" overall length. Choose the XFX model for longer vehicles like extended cab trucks, full-size vans, and limousines.
What are the electrical requirements for the 4P14EFX? ▾
The standard 4P14EFX requires 208-230V, 60Hz, single phase power with a dedicated circuit. The 2HP motor needs appropriate circuit protection with a circuit breaker or time delay fuse. Optional 3 phase configurations are available in 208V, 230V, or 460V for shops with three phase power.
What concrete specifications are required for installation? ▾
The 4P14EFX requires a minimum 4" thick concrete floor with steel reinforcement, 3,500 PSI compressive strength, cured for at least 28 days. The floor should be level within 1/2" side-to-side and 2-1/2" front-to-rear. Anchors cannot be installed within 8" of any crack, edge, or expansion joint.
What is the minimum bay size needed for the 4P14EFX? ▾
Challenger recommends a minimum bay size of 12' x 24' for the 4P14EFX. You also need at least 2' clearance to the nearest obstruction around the lift perimeter, plus adequate ceiling height for your tallest vehicles at full rise.
Can I add wheel alignment capability to the 4P14EFX? ▾
Yes, Challenger offers bolt-on alignment kits that make the 4P14EFX 3D alignment compatible. Options include the 40200-3D kit without turn plates, 40200-3DBK with black powder coated turn plates, and 40200-3DSS with stainless steel turn plates. These kits allow you to perform profitable alignment services.
What air supply is required for the lock release system? ▾
The pneumatic lock release system requires clean, dry, lubricated air regulated to 90-120 PSI. A Filter/Regulator/Lubricator (FRL) unit must be installed within 30 feet of the lift. Failure to provide proper air supply will void the warranty on pneumatic components.
What accessories are available for the 4P14EFX? ▾
Available accessories include RJ7.5 rolling jacks with 7,500 lb capacity, airline kit (40230-E), 6" and 9" stack extensions, louvered ramp kits in 36" and 52" lengths, bolt-on alignment kits with various turn plate options, and Sprinter adapter kit for servicing Mercedes Sprinter vans.
How long does it take the lift to reach full height? ▾
The 4P14EFX raises to full height in approximately 75 seconds. The lift provides 78" of rise height, which is among the highest in the industry for four post lifts, giving technicians excellent working clearance underneath vehicles.
Is the Challenger 4P14EFX ALI certified? ▾
Yes, the 4P14EFX is ALI/ETL certified, meaning it meets the safety standards established by the Automotive Lift Institute (ALI) and has been tested to ANSI/ALI ALCTV standards. This certification ensures the lift meets rigorous safety and performance requirements.
What maintenance is required for the 4P14EFX? ▾
Daily maintenance includes keeping components clean and checking for loose or broken parts. Weekly, inspect cables and sheaves for wear. Monthly, torque anchor bolts to 80 ft-lbs and lubricate cables and sheaves with light oil. Check hydraulic fluid level regularly and maintain clean, dry, lubricated air supply to the lock release system.
What type of hydraulic fluid does the 4P14EFX require? ▾
The 4P14EFX requires 3 gallons of clean 10 weight anti-foam, anti-rust hydraulic oil or Dexron III ATF. Do not use oils containing detergents. Hydraulic fluid is not included with the lift and must be purchased separately.
