Warranty

Warranty
Warranty basics
Challenger Lifts, Inc. (CLI) warrants its lifts to the original owner only; the coverage is not transferable. CLI will, at its discretion, repair or replace any part that is found on inspection to be defective during the applicable warranty period. Coverage applies only when the lift is installed, operated, and maintained in line with CLI's installation, operation, and maintenance instructions. Using unapproved parts or accessories voids the warranty, as does any repair attempted by someone who is not a CLI authorized service representative. Normal maintenance, adjustments, wear and tear, and damage from improper handling, abuse, misuse, or negligence are not covered. The warranty is valid only if the lift is registered with Challenger Lifts; registration must be completed online (challengerlifts.com/register-your-lift), otherwise the warranty period begins from the invoice date of purchase.
Warranty length
5 years on structural parts, 2 years on functional parts, and 1 year on labor. Structural parts include the carriage, columns, column extensions, overhead beams, arms, cross beams, runways, wheel stops, ramps, bolsters, sync rails, and plungers. Functional parts include power units, cylinders, sheaves, sheave pins, hoses, hydraulic and pneumatic fittings, cables, adapters, latches, valves, and controls.
Remedies and costs
Repair or replacement of defective parts is the exclusive remedy under this warranty. For the covered period, CLI also pays reasonable transportation and/or labor costs to replace those parts. This warranty is exclusive and replaces all other warranties, express or implied, including any implied warranty of fitness for a particular purpose, which is expressly excluded. No employee, agent, dealer, or other party may extend warranties on CLI's behalf. CLI is not liable for special, consequential, or incidental damages arising from any breach or delay in performance of the warranty. The warranty is governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Kentucky and is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Jefferson County, Kentucky.

FAQs

What is the lifting capacity of the Challenger DX77R? ▾
The Challenger DX77R has a total lifting capacity of 7,700 lbs with a maximum load of 3,850 lbs per platform. The lift capacity ratings are based on loads being equally distributed across both platforms. Never exceed 3,850 lbs on a single platform or attempt to lift a vehicle using only one platform.
What is the difference between the DX77 and DX77R? ▾
The DX77 is the surface mount version with a 74.5" rise height and 4.5" lowered height, while the DX77R is the flush mount version with a 70" rise height that sits level with your shop floor when lowered. The DX77R requires a pit to be constructed prior to installation, while the DX77 mounts directly to the concrete surface. The DX77R has a narrower overall width of 69.5" compared to 82" for the surface mount DX77.
What are the electrical requirements for the DX77R? ▾
The DX77R requires 208-240 VAC, single phase, 60Hz power with a dedicated 30 Amp double-pole circuit breaker or time delay fuse. A service disconnect switch must be installed near the point of operation per electrical code requirements. All wiring must be performed by a licensed electrician and comply with local electrical codes.
What concrete specifications are required for installation? ▾
The concrete must be a minimum of 4" thick with steel reinforcement, 3500 psi minimum strength, and cured for at least 28 days. The floor must be level within 3/8" over the installation area and in good condition without large cracks, spalling, or deterioration. No anchors should be installed within 8" of any crack, edge, or expansion joint.
What is included with the DX77R purchase? ▾
The DX77R includes the complete flush mount scissor lift assembly, flush mount pit frame kit, control console, 3" rubber spotting blocks (set of 4), 1.5" rubber spotting blocks (set of 4), reinforced diamond-plate access ramps, installation hardware, and complete documentation including the installation manual and ALI safety materials. Hydraulic fluid, electrical installation, concrete work, and installation labor are not included.
Does the DX77R require a pit for installation? ▾
Yes, the DX77R is a flush mount lift that requires a pit to be constructed in your shop floor. The Flush Mount Kit (Part# DX77-FM) is included and contains frame components with concrete ties that must be positioned before pouring concrete. Contact Challenger Lifts for detailed pit specifications before beginning any concrete work.
How long does it take to raise a vehicle? ▾
The DX77R has a rise time of approximately 43 seconds to reach full height. Actual lifting and lowering speeds may vary depending on the weight of the vehicle being serviced.
Is the DX77R ALI certified? ▾
Yes, the Challenger DX77R is ALI (Automotive Lift Institute) certified, meaning it meets rigorous safety and performance standards established by the industry. This certification provides assurance of the lift's quality, reliability, and compliance with ANSI/ALI safety standards.
Can the DX77R accommodate low profile vehicles? ▾
The DX77R features reinforced diamond-plate ramps that flip up and lock to extend the platform load length for longer wheelbase vehicles. For low profile vehicles, an optional extended ramp kit is available to provide additional approach angle and clearance.
What maintenance is required for the DX77R? ▾
Daily maintenance includes keeping lift components clean, checking for loose or broken parts, inspecting the hydraulic system for fluid leaks, and checking spotting blocks for damage. Weekly, clean around the base. Monthly, torque anchor bolts to 40 ft-lbs, inspect the concrete floor, lubricate slide tracks with heavy viscous grease, grease all pins, and check platform synchronization. See the operation manual for complete maintenance schedules.
What type of hydraulic fluid does the DX77R require? ▾
The DX77R requires approximately 4 gallons of hydraulic fluid. Acceptable oils include 10 weight anti-foam, anti-rust hydraulic/biodegradable oil or Dexron III ATF. Do not use oils with detergents. Hydraulic fluid is not included with the lift shipment.
