Warranty

Warranty
Warranty basics
Challenger Lifts, Inc. (CLI) warrants its lifts to the original owner only; the coverage is not transferable. CLI will, at its discretion, repair or replace any part that is found on inspection to be defective during the applicable warranty period. Coverage applies only when the lift is installed, operated, and maintained in line with CLI's installation, operation, and maintenance instructions. Using unapproved parts or accessories voids the warranty, as does any repair attempted by someone who is not a CLI authorized service representative. Normal maintenance, adjustments, wear and tear, and damage from improper handling, abuse, misuse, or negligence are not covered. The warranty is valid only if the lift is registered with Challenger Lifts; registration must be completed online (challengerlifts.com/register-your-lift), otherwise the warranty period begins from the invoice date of purchase.
Warranty length
5 years on structural parts, 2 years on functional parts, and 1 year on labor. Structural parts include the carriage, columns, column extensions, overhead beams, arms, cross beams, runways, wheel stops, ramps, bolsters, sync rails, and plungers. Functional parts include power units, cylinders, sheaves, sheave pins, hoses, hydraulic and pneumatic fittings, cables, adapters, latches, valves, and controls.
Remedies and costs
Repair or replacement of defective parts is the exclusive remedy under this warranty. For the covered period, CLI also pays reasonable transportation and/or labor costs to replace those parts. This warranty is exclusive and replaces all other warranties, express or implied, including any implied warranty of fitness for a particular purpose, which is expressly excluded. No employee, agent, dealer, or other party may extend warranties on CLI's behalf. CLI is not liable for special, consequential, or incidental damages arising from any breach or delay in performance of the warranty. The warranty is governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Kentucky and is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Jefferson County, Kentucky.

FAQs

What are Upper Components and how do they differ from a completion kit? ▾
Upper Components (UC) include everything that goes above the pre-kit foundation: the completion kit (8-1/2" chrome pistons, 3 HP QuickCycle power unit, Bench Mount Controls, hydraulic and pneumatic hardware) and the 3-stage arm superstructure (versymmetric arms, double telescoping screw pads, synchronizing rail, center cover plate) combined in a single order. A completion kit alone includes only the hydraulic and power components without the superstructure.
What do I still need to purchase separately? ▾
The only additional Challenger component required is the EV1020 CSPK-series pre-kit foundation, which provides the below-grade sealed recycled polymer cassette tub and structural frame. Once the pre-kit is installed in a properly constructed concrete pit, this UC package supplies everything else needed for a complete 10,000 lb inground lift with 3-stage versymmetric arms and Bench Mount Controls. Site infrastructure including concrete work, electrical wiring, compressed air supply, hydraulic hose, and installation labor must also be furnished separately.
What are Bench Mount Controls (BMC)? ▾
Bench Mount Controls place the raise, lower, and lock release functions directly at the technician's workbench instead of on a wall-mounted panel. BMC mounts to most major workbench brands and creates a cleaner bay layout by integrating lift controls at the primary workstation. This keeps the technician focused on the vehicle without crossing the bay to operate the lift, reducing cycle time in high-throughput environments.
Is a standard 2 HP motor option available without QuickCycle? ▾
Yes. If your facility does not require the faster 27-second rise time, the EV1020-UC-BMC provides the same 3-stage arm superstructure and Bench Mount Controls with the standard 2 HP motor (38-second rise). For configurations without BMC, the EV1020-UC-QC offers QuickCycle with standard wall-mounted controls, and the EV1020-UC provides the base configuration with standard motor and wall-mounted controls.
What are the 3-stage arm specifications? ▾
The EV1020 superstructure features true 3-stage triple-telescoping versymmetric front and rear arms with an arm reach from 19-5/8" minimum to 42-1/8" maximum. The versymmetric design allows both symmetric and asymmetric lifting within the same bay. Double telescoping screw pads adjust from 3-7/8" to 6", minimizing the need for truck adapters across a wide range of vehicles from compact cars to light trucks.
How does the EV1020 (3-stage arms) differ from the EV1020-XP9 (drive-on pads)? ▾
The EV1020 with 3-stage arms has a 10,000 lb capacity (2,500 lb per arm), 78" rise height, 72" stroke, and 97" overall width. The EV1020-XP9 uses fixed drive-on express pads instead of arms, has a 9,000 lb capacity (4,500 lb per pad), 70" rise height, 68" stroke, and 79-3/4" overall width. Choose 3-stage arms for maximum vehicle coverage and flexibility or XP9 pads for faster vehicle spotting in express service bays.
What are the electrical requirements? ▾
The QuickCycle 3 HP motor requires 208-230V, single-phase, 60Hz power on a dedicated 30A circuit with a circuit breaker or time-delay fuse. Three-phase options (208/230/460V) are available for facilities with 3-phase power. The power unit motor must be mounted at least 18" above the finished floor per National Electric Code NFPA70. A licensed electrician must install and verify the electrical supply meets all local codes.
What air supply is required? ▾
The lift requires 90-120 PSI compressed air that is clean, dry, lubricated, and pressure-regulated. The air supply must run through a Filter/Regulator/Lubricator (FLR) within 30 feet of the factory-assembled air valve. Failure to provide properly conditioned air voids the warranty on pneumatic components. Drain water from the air supply daily to prevent contamination of the lock release components.
What concrete is required for the pre-kit installation? ▾
The pre-kit (purchased separately) requires a minimum 4" thick reinforced concrete floor rated at 3,500+ PSI, fully cured for 28+ days. New construction requires a dedicated excavation per the installation manual. Existing facilities require a block-out or saw cut per Challenger's specifications. The concrete must be finished and fully cured before the upper components in this package can be installed on top of the pre-kit foundation.
What superstructure colors are available? ▾
The EV1020 3-stage arm superstructure is available in Red, Blue, or Black premium powder coat finish. Select your preferred color when ordering. The powder coat provides long-lasting durability and corrosion resistance in demanding shop environments. Color availability applies to the superstructure arms and bolsters only; completion kit components ship in standard finish.
Is the completed EV1020 lift ALI/ETL certified? ▾
Yes. When the EV1020-UC-BMC-QC upper components are properly installed on a Challenger EV1020 CSPK pre-kit foundation, the completed lift system is ALI/ETL certified and designed to the ANSI/ALI ALCTV standard. This certification ensures the lift meets or exceeds industry safety requirements for professional automotive service facilities.
