Warranty

Warranty
Warranty basics
Challenger Lifts, Inc. (CLI) warrants its lifts to the original owner only; the coverage is not transferable. CLI will, at its discretion, repair or replace any part that is found on inspection to be defective during the applicable warranty period. Coverage applies only when the lift is installed, operated, and maintained in line with CLI's installation, operation, and maintenance instructions. Using unapproved parts or accessories voids the warranty, as does any repair attempted by someone who is not a CLI authorized service representative. Normal maintenance, adjustments, wear and tear, and damage from improper handling, abuse, misuse, or negligence are not covered. The warranty is valid only if the lift is registered with Challenger Lifts; registration must be completed online (challengerlifts.com/register-your-lift), otherwise the warranty period begins from the invoice date of purchase.
Warranty length
5 years on structural parts, 2 years on functional parts, and 1 year on labor. Structural parts include the carriage, columns, column extensions, overhead beams, arms, cross beams, runways, wheel stops, ramps, bolsters, sync rails, and plungers. Functional parts include power units, cylinders, sheaves, sheave pins, hoses, hydraulic and pneumatic fittings, cables, adapters, latches, valves, and controls.
Remedies and costs
Repair or replacement of defective parts is the exclusive remedy under this warranty. For the covered period, CLI also pays reasonable transportation and/or labor costs to replace those parts. This warranty is exclusive and replaces all other warranties, express or implied, including any implied warranty of fitness for a particular purpose, which is expressly excluded. No employee, agent, dealer, or other party may extend warranties on CLI's behalf. CLI is not liable for special, consequential, or incidental damages arising from any breach or delay in performance of the warranty. The warranty is governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Kentucky and is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Jefferson County, Kentucky.

FAQs

What is the lifting capacity of the EV1020XP9SS superstructure? ▾
The Challenger EV1020XP9SS XP9 Express Pad superstructure provides a total lifting capacity of 9,000 lb (4,082 kg) distributed across the drive-on platform. Each pad supports up to 4,500 lb (2,041 kg) individually, allowing balanced weight distribution for vehicles with front-heavy or rear-heavy configurations. This capacity accommodates most passenger cars, light trucks, and SUVs used in express service bay applications.
What lift system is the EV1020XP9SS compatible with? ▾
The EV1020XP9SS is designed exclusively for the Challenger EV1020 inground lift system and is not compatible with other lift models or manufacturers. The superstructure mounts directly to the EV1020 cassette-style lift carrier using factory-specified attachment points. When properly installed, the EV1020XP9 configuration is ALI/ETL certified. The system requires 90-120 psi air supply for operation.
How does the XP9 express pad differ from the 3-stage arm superstructure? ▾
The XP9 express pad superstructure uses a fixed drive-on platform design with 9,000 lb capacity, while the standard EV1020SS uses 3-stage telescoping arms with 10,000 lb capacity and 2,500 lb per arm. The XP9 eliminates arm positioning time for faster vehicle throughput in express bays, while 3-stage arms provide more flexibility for precise lift point positioning on varied vehicle types. The XP9 has a 70 inch rise height versus 74 inches for the arm version.
Can low-profile vehicles use the XP9 express pad? ▾
Yes, the EV1020XP9SS features a low-profile pad design with a minimum pad height of just 2.25 inches (57 mm), specifically engineered to accommodate low-clearance sports cars, performance vehicles, and vehicles with aftermarket lowering modifications. This allows shops to service vehicles that cannot safely drive onto standard-height platforms without requiring separate specialized lift equipment for low-profile applications.
How do the flip-up ramps work? ▾
The EV1020XP9SS includes reinforced front and rear access ramps that flip up and lock into position to extend the platform length for longer wheelbase vehicles. Technicians can quickly adjust ramp position between vehicles without tools. When flipped down, the ramps provide standard platform length. When flipped up and locked, the extended platform accommodates SUVs, trucks, and vehicles with wheelbases that would otherwise exceed the base platform dimensions.
How is the EV1020XP9SS shipped? ▾
The EV1020XP9SS ships via freight carrier on a 48-foot flatbed semi truck due to the size and weight of the superstructure assembly. Liftgate service is not available for lift equipment. Customers are responsible for unloading and must have a forklift or equivalent equipment capable of handling the full shipment weight. Alternatively, shipments can be sent to the nearest freight terminal for customer pickup with their own trailer or moving van.
Are frame engaging adapters required with the XP9 pad? ▾
Optional frame engaging adapters (Challenger part numbers 10314 or 10318) are required when lifting vehicles with frame construction on the EV1020XP9 system. The drive-on pad supports unibody vehicles directly, but frame-construction trucks and body-on-frame SUVs require the additional adapters to properly contact frame rails rather than body panels. Contact us at 800-736-6265 to confirm adapter requirements for your specific vehicle service mix.
