Warranty

Warranty
Warranty basics
Challenger Lifts, Inc. (CLI) warrants its lifts to the original owner only; the coverage is not transferable. CLI will, at its discretion, repair or replace any part that is found on inspection to be defective during the applicable warranty period. Coverage applies only when the lift is installed, operated, and maintained in line with CLI's installation, operation, and maintenance instructions. Using unapproved parts or accessories voids the warranty, as does any repair attempted by someone who is not a CLI authorized service representative. Normal maintenance, adjustments, wear and tear, and damage from improper handling, abuse, misuse, or negligence are not covered. The warranty is valid only if the lift is registered with Challenger Lifts; registration must be completed online (challengerlifts.com/register-your-lift), otherwise the warranty period begins from the invoice date of purchase.
Warranty length
5 years on structural parts, 2 years on functional parts, and 1 year on labor. Structural parts include the carriage, columns, column extensions, overhead beams, arms, cross beams, runways, wheel stops, ramps, bolsters, sync rails, and plungers. Functional parts include power units, cylinders, sheaves, sheave pins, hoses, hydraulic and pneumatic fittings, cables, adapters, latches, valves, and controls.
Remedies and costs
Repair or replacement of defective parts is the exclusive remedy under this warranty. For the covered period, CLI also pays reasonable transportation and/or labor costs to replace those parts. This warranty is exclusive and replaces all other warranties, express or implied, including any implied warranty of fitness for a particular purpose, which is expressly excluded. No employee, agent, dealer, or other party may extend warranties on CLI's behalf. CLI is not liable for special, consequential, or incidental damages arising from any breach or delay in performance of the warranty. The warranty is governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Kentucky and is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Jefferson County, Kentucky.

FAQs

What is a completion kit and why would I need one? ▾
A completion kit provides the hydraulic, power, and control components that bridge the gap between your installed pre-kit foundation and the superstructure. If you are building a new EV1220 installation in phases, replacing worn hydraulic components in an existing lift, or upgrading from standard controls to bench mount controls with Quick Cycle, the completion kit delivers the specific components needed without purchasing a complete lift assembly.
What lift system is this completion kit compatible with? ▾
The EV1220-CK-BMC-QC is engineered exclusively for the Challenger EV1220 12,000 lb inground cassette-style lift system. It is not compatible with other Challenger lift models such as the EV1020, EV1520, or EW Series, and it will not fit competing manufacturers' inground lift platforms. Confirm your existing pre-kit model before ordering.
What components are included in this completion kit? ▾
The kit includes 8.5" diameter chrome-plated pistons, chrome non-breathing ram-style cylinders, a 3HP Quick Cycle power unit assembly, Bench Mount Controls (BMC) with raise, lower, and lock release functions, enhanced raised wipers, and a complete hardware box with all nuts, bolts, fittings, and fasteners required for installation. Pre-kit foundation and superstructure are not included.
What other components do I need to complete a full EV1220 lift? ▾
A complete EV1220 inground lift requires three component groups: the pre-kit foundation (CSPK-series cassette pit assembly providing the below-grade sealed polymer tub and frame), this completion kit (pistons, power unit, controls, and hardware), and the EV1220SS superstructure (3-stage front and rear arms, screw-type extensions, and frame engaging adapters). All three are required for a fully operational 12,000 lb lift system.
What is the difference between BMC and standard wall-mounted controls? ▾
Bench Mount Controls (BMC) provide a permanent control station that mounts at a workbench or designated location, offering raise, lower, and lock release functions from a fixed ergonomic position. Standard wall-mounted controls mount near the lift column and feature a single push-button lift function with a down release valve handle. BMC improves operator efficiency in high-volume environments by centralizing lift control at the work area.
What does Quick Cycle mean? ▾
Quick Cycle refers to the upgraded 3HP motor that delivers faster rise and lower times compared to the standard 2HP EV1220 motor. The standard model has a 60-second rise time while the Quick Cycle configuration reduces this substantially. Quick Cycle is recommended for high-volume service environments where faster lift transitions directly impact daily throughput and technician productivity.
What electrical power does this kit require? ▾
The Quick Cycle power unit requires 208-230V, 60Hz, single-phase electrical service with a dedicated 3HP motor circuit. A licensed electrician must install and verify the electrical supply meets all local codes and Challenger specifications before the power unit is connected and energized.
Is compressed air required? ▾
Yes, the EV1220 system requires compressed air at 90-120 PSI for the mechanical lock release mechanism. Ensure your shop air system can provide adequate pressure and volume for consistent lock release operation during normal service use.
Is professional installation required? ▾
Yes, professional installation by qualified lift technicians familiar with inground lift systems is required. The completion kit involves hydraulic connections, electrical wiring, and control system integration that must follow Challenger's specified torque values and procedures for safe operation. Improper installation can void warranty coverage and create safety hazards.
What warranty coverage does this kit include? ▾
Challenger provides a 5-year warranty on structural components, 2-year warranty on functional parts (power units, cylinders, hoses, controls), and 1-year warranty on electrical components. An optional extended warranty adding 3 years of functional parts coverage is available within 30 days of purchase. Warranty registration must be completed within 30 days of installation.
How does this kit differ from the EV12CK (standard) and EV12CK-BMC? ▾
The standard EV12CK includes 8.5" chrome pistons, a 2HP power unit, standard wall-mounted controls, and hardware. The EV12CK-BMC adds Bench Mount Controls while retaining the 2HP motor. This EV1220-CK-BMC-QC combines both upgrades: the 3HP Quick Cycle motor for faster lift cycles and Bench Mount Controls for ergonomic operation, representing the highest-performance completion kit configuration available for the EV1220 platform.
I am not sure which components I need. Can I get help? ▾
Our equipment specialists can review your existing installation, confirm which pre-kit and superstructure models you have, and recommend the correct completion kit configuration. Whether you are building a new installation or upgrading existing components, call our team at 800-736-6265 to confirm compatibility and coordinate your complete EV1220 order.
