Warranty

Warranty
Warranty basics
Challenger Lifts, Inc. (CLI) warrants its lifts to the original owner only; the coverage is not transferable. CLI will, at its discretion, repair or replace any part that is found on inspection to be defective during the applicable warranty period. Coverage applies only when the lift is installed, operated, and maintained in line with CLI's installation, operation, and maintenance instructions. Using unapproved parts or accessories voids the warranty, as does any repair attempted by someone who is not a CLI authorized service representative. Normal maintenance, adjustments, wear and tear, and damage from improper handling, abuse, misuse, or negligence are not covered. The warranty is valid only if the lift is registered with Challenger Lifts; registration must be completed online (challengerlifts.com/register-your-lift), otherwise the warranty period begins from the invoice date of purchase.
Warranty length
5 years on structural parts, 2 years on functional parts, and 1 year on labor. Structural parts include the carriage, columns, column extensions, overhead beams, arms, cross beams, runways, wheel stops, ramps, bolsters, sync rails, and plungers. Functional parts include power units, cylinders, sheaves, sheave pins, hoses, hydraulic and pneumatic fittings, cables, adapters, latches, valves, and controls.
Remedies and costs
Repair or replacement of defective parts is the exclusive remedy under this warranty. For the covered period, CLI also pays reasonable transportation and/or labor costs to replace those parts. This warranty is exclusive and replaces all other warranties, express or implied, including any implied warranty of fitness for a particular purpose, which is expressly excluded. No employee, agent, dealer, or other party may extend warranties on CLI's behalf. CLI is not liable for special, consequential, or incidental damages arising from any breach or delay in performance of the warranty. The warranty is governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Kentucky and is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Jefferson County, Kentucky.

FAQs

What is the EV1220-UC-QC and what does it include? ▾
The EV1220-UC-QC is the upper component package for a 2-part installation of the Challenger EV1220 12,000 lb capacity inground lift with Quick Cycle technology. It includes the superstructure with true 3-stage front and rear Versymmetric arms, bolster assemblies, 8.5-inch chrome pistons, a 3 HP Quick Cycle power unit with larger 4cc displacement pump, double-telescoping screw pads, stack adapter extension kit, frame engaging truck adapters, and all installation hardware. The lower cassette tub is sold separately and must be installed in concrete before these upper components can be added.
What is the difference between the UC-QC upper components and a complete EV1220-QC lift system? ▾
The EV1220-UC-QC includes only the upper components for the second phase of a 2-part installation, while a complete EV1220-QC system ships with both the lower cassette tub and upper components together. The UC-QC package is designed for facilities that have already installed the lower cassette tub during an earlier construction phase or are planning a phased installation where the tub goes in during concrete work and the upper components are added later. Both configurations result in the same fully operational 12,000 lb capacity inground lift with Quick Cycle 38-second rise time when installation is complete.
What is Quick Cycle technology and how much faster is it? ▾
Quick Cycle is Challenger's hydraulic enhancement that pairs a 3 HP motor with a larger 4cc displacement pump compared to the standard 2 HP motor and 2.5cc pump. This combination delivers a 38-second rise time versus 60 seconds on the standard EV1220 configuration, making the Quick Cycle equipped lift 2x faster than traditional inground lift systems. The faster cycling directly increases the number of vehicles a shop can service per bay each day in high-volume environments like dealership service departments and fleet maintenance facilities, resulting in higher annual service and parts revenue.
Do I need the lower cassette tub before installing the EV1220-UC-QC? ▾
Yes, the EV1220 lower cassette tub must be installed and fully cured in concrete before the upper components can be added. The lower tub is the sealed recycled polymer cassette housing that sits below grade and contains the hydraulic cylinder assembly. It must be level, properly positioned per Challenger specifications, and the surrounding concrete must meet minimum PSI requirements with proper reinforcement. The lower tub is sold separately. Contact our team at 855-498-2147 to confirm lower tub availability and coordinate your 2-part installation timeline.
What are the electrical requirements for the Quick Cycle power unit? ▾
The EV1220-UC-QC Quick Cycle power unit requires 208v-230v, 60Hz, single phase electrical supply rated for the 3 HP motor, which draws higher amperage than the standard 2 HP configuration. A licensed electrician must verify that your facility's electrical service can support the 3 HP motor circuit and install the wiring per all local electrical codes. The lift also requires compressed air at 90-120 psi for the stainless steel lock release mechanism. Shops upgrading from a standard EV1220 to Quick Cycle should confirm that their existing electrical panel and circuit capacity can handle the increased power requirements.
What type of arms are included with the EV1220-UC-QC? ▾
The upper components include true 3-stage front and rear Versymmetric arms that provide both symmetric and asymmetric lifting capability within the same service bay. These triple-telescoping arms extend from 19.625 inches minimum to 48 inches maximum reach with a 3,000 lb capacity per arm, providing access to manufacturer-recommended lift points on vehicles from compact cars to full-size trucks. The 87-inch drive-thru clearance accommodates wider vehicles, and the included double-telescoping screw pads, stack adapter extension kit, and frame engaging truck adapters ensure compatibility with the broadest range of vehicle types.
What warranty coverage applies to the EV1220-UC-QC upper components? ▾
The standard Challenger Lifts warranty covers both structural parts (arms, bolsters, plungers) and functional parts (power unit, cylinders, controls, hoses) for their respective warranty periods when installed per manufacturer specifications. Warranty registration must be completed online within 30 days of installation, or the warranty period begins from the invoice date. An extended warranty is available for purchase within 30 days of lift invoice that extends functional parts coverage by an additional 3 years for 5 years total. Installation must be performed by an authorized Challenger installer using approved parts and accessories.
How is the EV1220-UC-QC shipped? ▾
The EV1220-UC-QC upper components ship via freight carrier due to the size and weight of the superstructure assemblies, 3-stage Versymmetric arms, 8.5-inch chrome pistons, and 3 HP Quick Cycle power unit for this 12,000 lb capacity lift system. Liftgate service is typically not available for this shipment, so you should have a forklift or similar material handling equipment available at your location for unloading. Inspect all packages carefully before signing the bill of lading and document any visible damage on the BOL before the freight driver departs to ensure proper damage claim processing if needed.
