Warranty

Warranty
Warranty basics
Challenger Lifts, Inc. (CLI) warrants its lifts to the original owner only; the coverage is not transferable. CLI will, at its discretion, repair or replace any part that is found on inspection to be defective during the applicable warranty period. Coverage applies only when the lift is installed, operated, and maintained in line with CLI's installation, operation, and maintenance instructions. Using unapproved parts or accessories voids the warranty, as does any repair attempted by someone who is not a CLI authorized service representative. Normal maintenance, adjustments, wear and tear, and damage from improper handling, abuse, misuse, or negligence are not covered. The warranty is valid only if the lift is registered with Challenger Lifts; registration must be completed online (challengerlifts.com/register-your-lift), otherwise the warranty period begins from the invoice date of purchase.
Warranty length
5 years on structural parts, 2 years on functional parts, and 1 year on labor. Structural parts include the carriage, columns, column extensions, overhead beams, arms, cross beams, runways, wheel stops, ramps, bolsters, sync rails, and plungers. Functional parts include power units, cylinders, sheaves, sheave pins, hoses, hydraulic and pneumatic fittings, cables, adapters, latches, valves, and controls.
Remedies and costs
Repair or replacement of defective parts is the exclusive remedy under this warranty. For the covered period, CLI also pays reasonable transportation and/or labor costs to replace those parts. This warranty is exclusive and replaces all other warranties, express or implied, including any implied warranty of fitness for a particular purpose, which is expressly excluded. No employee, agent, dealer, or other party may extend warranties on CLI's behalf. CLI is not liable for special, consequential, or incidental damages arising from any breach or delay in performance of the warranty. The warranty is governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Kentucky and is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Jefferson County, Kentucky.

FAQs

What is the lifting capacity of the EV1220 system with this completion kit? ▾
The Challenger EV1220 inground lift system has a rated capacity of 12,000 lb when properly installed with the EV1220CK completion kit, foundation pre-kit, and superstructure. This capacity supports sedans, SUVs, crossovers, and light trucks within the weight rating.
What other components do I need to complete an EV1220 installation? ▾
The EV1220CK completion kit must be combined with a Challenger foundation pre-kit (CSPK series) that provides the inground pit structure, plus the superstructure assembly that includes the lifting arms and contact pads. Bench mounted controls are available separately as an optional accessory (EV12CK-BMC variant).
What size are the pistons included in the EV1220CK? ▾
The EV1220CK includes 8.5-inch chrome-plated pistons specifically engineered for the EV1220 cassette-style inground lift system. The chrome plating provides corrosion resistance essential for below-grade installations exposed to moisture.
Can I use generic or aftermarket components instead of this completion kit? ▾
Challenger strongly recommends using OEM components like the EV1220CK to ensure proper fit, maintain rated capacity, and preserve warranty coverage. Generic or aftermarket components may not match the tolerances and specifications of the EV1220 platform, potentially compromising performance or safety.
Is professional installation required for warranty coverage? ▾
Professional installation following Challenger's specifications is required to maintain warranty coverage. Inground lift installation involves hydraulic systems, electrical connections, and precise alignment that require qualified technician expertise. Improper installation may void warranty coverage.
What is included in the hardware box? ▾
The hardware box contains all nuts, bolts, fittings, fasteners, and hydraulic line connection components required for installation. The inventory matches the installation manual requirements exactly, so you have every component needed to complete the job without sourcing additional hardware.
How is the EV1220CK shipped? ▾
The EV1220CK ships via freight carrier with free shipping to commercial addresses in the 48 contiguous United States. A forklift or loading dock is recommended for unloading the heavy hydraulic components. Curbside delivery is standard, so plan for equipment to move the shipment into your facility.
Can I use this kit to replace worn components on an existing EV1220? ▾
Yes, the EV1220CK can be used to replace worn pistons, power units, or damaged hardware on existing EV1220 installations. This allows you to restore full lift performance using OEM components without complete system replacement.
What electrical requirements does the power unit have? ▾
Specific electrical requirements are detailed in the EV1220 installation manual and depend on your power unit configuration. A licensed electrician must install and verify the electrical supply meets all voltage, phase, and amperage specifications for safe power unit operation.
What warranty coverage does the EV1220CK have? ▾
The EV1220CK is covered under Challenger's comprehensive warranty program for defects in materials and workmanship. Coverage requires professional installation, proper maintenance, and use of genuine Challenger parts. See the warranty document for complete terms and conditions.
Why are chrome pistons important for inground lifts? ▾
Inground lifts are installed below floor level where they face moisture intrusion and temperature fluctuations that can degrade piston surfaces. Chrome plating provides superior corrosion resistance and maintains a precision surface that preserves hydraulic seal integrity over thousands of lift cycles.
