Warranty

Warranty
Warranty basics
Challenger Lifts, Inc. (CLI) warrants its lifts to the original owner only; the coverage is not transferable. CLI will, at its discretion, repair or replace any part that is found on inspection to be defective during the applicable warranty period. Coverage applies only when the lift is installed, operated, and maintained in line with CLI's installation, operation, and maintenance instructions. Using unapproved parts or accessories voids the warranty, as does any repair attempted by someone who is not a CLI authorized service representative. Normal maintenance, adjustments, wear and tear, and damage from improper handling, abuse, misuse, or negligence are not covered. The warranty is valid only if the lift is registered with Challenger Lifts; registration must be completed online (challengerlifts.com/register-your-lift), otherwise the warranty period begins from the invoice date of purchase.
Warranty length
5 years on structural parts, 2 years on functional parts, and 1 year on labor. Structural parts include the carriage, columns, column extensions, overhead beams, arms, cross beams, runways, wheel stops, ramps, bolsters, sync rails, and plungers. Functional parts include power units, cylinders, sheaves, sheave pins, hoses, hydraulic and pneumatic fittings, cables, adapters, latches, valves, and controls.
Remedies and costs
Repair or replacement of defective parts is the exclusive remedy under this warranty. For the covered period, CLI also pays reasonable transportation and/or labor costs to replace those parts. This warranty is exclusive and replaces all other warranties, express or implied, including any implied warranty of fitness for a particular purpose, which is expressly excluded. No employee, agent, dealer, or other party may extend warranties on CLI's behalf. CLI is not liable for special, consequential, or incidental damages arising from any breach or delay in performance of the warranty. The warranty is governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Kentucky and is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Jefferson County, Kentucky.

FAQs

What is the lifting capacity of the Challenger EW12? ▾
The Challenger EW12 has a lifting capacity of 12,000 lb (5,443 kg). This capacity is ALI/ETL certified, confirming third-party verification of the lift's structural integrity and load-bearing capability for professional shop applications.
What is the drive-through clearance of the EW12? ▾
The EW12 provides 88 inches of drive-through clearance between lift columns, which is significantly wider than standard inground lifts that typically offer 60-72 inches. This extra width accommodates wide-bodied vehicles, SUVs, and electric vehicle platforms without repositioning.
What are the electrical requirements for the EW12? ▾
The Challenger EW12 requires 208-230V, 60 Hz, single-phase electrical service with a dedicated circuit for the 2 HP lift motor. A licensed electrician must install and verify the electrical supply following National Electrical Code (NEC) standards, and the lift must be properly grounded per local codes.
Is the EW12 suitable for electric vehicle service? ▾
Yes, the EW12 is specifically designed for EV service. The 88-inch wide clearance and arm geometry enable battery pack access and lowering without obstruction or modification. Technicians can service high-voltage battery systems, thermal management components, and EV-specific drivetrain elements without external support jacks.
What certifications does the EW12 hold? ▾
The Challenger EW12 holds both ALI (Automotive Lift Institute) and ETL certification. These dual certifications verify compliance with industry safety and performance standards, including structural integrity, load capacity, and mechanical safety features. This certification is recognized by technicians, facility managers, and insurance carriers as the standard for professional-grade lift equipment.
What is the rise height and stroke of the EW12? ▾
The EW12 provides a 78-inch rise height with a 72-inch stroke. The arm reach extends from 20 to 48.5 inches, and the double-telescoping screw pads offer a height range of 4 to 6.125 inches for versatile vehicle positioning.
What are the space requirements for installation? ▾
The EW12 requires a minimum ceiling height of approximately 12 feet (3.66 meters) to accommodate lift arms at full height and allow technician movement. A recommended bay width of approximately 12 feet provides adequate working space around the lift perimeter. The drive-through clearance requires 88 inches of unobstructed width between lift columns.
Does the EW12 require compressed air? ▾
Yes, the EW12 requires a 90-120 psi compressed air supply for automatic safety lock engagement at designated lift heights. The air supply activates the redundant locking system that secures vehicles during service operations.
What is included with the Challenger EW12? ▾
The EW12 includes the complete inground lift assembly, true 3-stage front and rear arms, double-telescoping screw pads, 2 HP hydraulic power unit, safety lock system components, and installation/operation manual. Electrical installation, compressed air system, concrete work, and installation labor are not included.
How is the EW12 shipped? ▾
The Challenger EW12 ships via freight to commercial addresses in the 48 contiguous United States with free shipping. A forklift or loading dock is required for unloading. Standard delivery is curbside, and all packages should be inspected for damage before signing the bill of lading.
How does the EW12 compare to standard-width inground lifts? ▾
The EW12's 88-inch drive-through clearance is significantly wider than standard inground lifts, which typically offer 60-72 inches. This additional width eliminates the need for vehicle repositioning when servicing wide-bodied vehicles and provides unobstructed access for EV battery lowering operations that would require modification or external equipment on narrower lifts.
